Lazio Historic Shirts: 120 Years of White and Blue Memorabilia
There SS Lazio Lazio boasts a 120-year history of success and trophies, and was a full member of the Seven Sisters club between the 1990s and 2000s, along with Roma, Milan, Fiorentina, Inter, Parma, and Juventus. During these years of exceptional results, many of the club's uniforms have become unforgettable, and the historic Lazio jerseys are highly collectible. The Biancoceleste club was founded in 1900 by a group of young athletes. Football wasn't initially included in the sports club; it wasn't until 1901 that Bruto Seghettini, a member and player at Racing Club Paris, began playing football. Interesting fact: at that time, Lazio's historic jersey was black and white; the classic white and sky blue colors wouldn't be adopted until 1904. One of the very first trophies won was the Coppa Baccelli, a local competition in 1906. The first Coppa Italia was won in 1958. From there, it was all uphill until 1974, when they won their first Serie A championship in the 1973/74 season, with a very young playmaker, Vincenzo D'Amico, on the pitch. Lazio wore four historic shirts that year: a sky blue V-neck with sky blue sleeve trim and white piping; a sky blue V-neck with white sleeve trim; a white V-neck with sky blue sleeve trim; and a white V-neck with white sleeve trim and sky blue piping. The 1980s arrived, and with them, relegation to Serie B along with AC Milan due to the Totonero scandal.
Historic Lazio Shirts
SS Lazio faltered throughout the 80s until 1990 with the beginning of the Cragnotti era who bought the majority stake of a club coming from Serie B. The recovery was slow but with Dino Zoff on the bench and players of the caliber of Beppe Signori , in the 92/93 season, finished in 5th place in Serie A. In 1994, the club decided to focus on a promising Czech coach, Zdeněk Zeman, who finished the championship with Lazio in 2nd place. We remember the retro 94/95 Lazio third jersey in a silver grey with prints in the typical 90s shapes designed by Umbro. A legendary Lazio team was found in the 97/98 season, where they won the Italian Cup, beating Milan 3-1 with goals from Gottardi, Jugović, and Nesta. In the 2000s, they fully entered the group of the 7 sisters, winning the Italian Championship and the UEFA Cup in the 99/00 season led by coach Sven-Göran Eriksson. That year, the club decided to pay homage to the club's birth, and the historic jersey celebrated the centenary of the club's founding, signed Puma and with the historic commercial sponsor Cirio in light blue and black sleeve trim and chest band.
