The 1990/1991 season was a transitional year for Napoli, coming off their Serie A triumph the previous season. Under coach Alberto Bigon, the team finished 7th in the league and reached the Round of 16 in the European Cup. Diego Maradona remained the team’s leader, but his Napoli journey was nearing its end. This season also saw the emergence of young talents like Gianfranco Zola, who would eventually inherit Maradona’s legacy.
