Historical Cagliari shirts: the Casteddu vintage

The Cagliari Calcio Founded in 1920 as Cagliari Football Club, it is the only Sardinian club to have played in both Serie A and Serie B. In the early decades, Casteddu was remembered as playing in Serie B and Serie C. The turning point came in 1964 with promotion to Serie A. The 1969/70 football season saw the club win the Scudetto with the great champion Giggi Riva, who was also the top scorer that year with 21 goals in 28 games. In 1992-1993, Cagliari was sold to Massimo Cellino, coached by Carlo Mazzone with the legendary Luís Oliveira in attack. That same year, the club managed to qualify for the UEFA Cup. In the 1993/94 season, the Sardinians reached the semi-finals of the European competition, facing Inter Milan , where the Rossoblu won 3-2 at home but were defeated 3-0 in the return leg.
