Historic Inter jerseys: the black and blues of the 7 Sisters

Internazionale is one of the most decorated Italian teams in the league, as well as being one of the Seven Sisters (along with Juventus, Milan, Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, and Parma), not to mention the countless historic Inter shirts to collect. Founded by forty-four dissidents from AC Milan Football and Cricket Club in 1908, Internazionale began its astonishing career, winning its first Scudetto just three years after its founding; its second would not be achieved until another decade later. The Fascist period was a period of uncertainty, during which the club also changed its name to Società sportiva Ambrosiana, then to Ambrosiana Inter in 1931. After the war, it returned to its original name, Internazionale, and the Scudetto titles of the 1952/53 and 1953/54 seasons also arrived. From 1955, the era of Angelo Moratti and the Grande Inter began, and under coach Helenio Herrera , the team won three Serie A titles, two European Cups, and two Intercontinental Cups. The Inter phenomenon slowed slightly under the leadership of Ivanoe Fraizzoli , who won two Scudettos and one Coppa Italia in a decade. Under the leadership of Ernesto Pelegri and Trapattoni, Inter won a record-breaking Scudetto, collecting 58 points in the 1988/89 season. The 1990s brought another Moratti to the presidency, and in the 2000s, with Roberto Mancini on the bench, Inter won three Scudettos, two Coppa Italias, and two Supercoppa Italianas. Inter, under the versatile José Mourinho, is the only club to have won the treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Champions League in the same year.

Historic Inter Shirts

The colors of Inter's shirt are a tribute to the night the club was founded, but above all, a way to contrast with AC Milan: "Black as the night, blue as the night sky." The uniform changed only for one football season, 1928, when it absorbed the Unione Sportiva Milanese. The shirt was white with a red cross in the center, but from the following season the black and blue vertical stripes were used again. A memorable Inter shirt from the 1990s with black and blue stripes is certainly the Inter 97/98 shirt with the historic sponsors Pirelli and Umbro . That year, the phenomenon Ronaldo wore the number 10, bringing home a UEFA Cup. The crest has undergone changes over time: from the black and blue bordered circle that recalled the colors of the night and the gold letters FCIM to the one from the fascist period with the fasces. The biscione (snake) then emerged until the 1980s, when the crest became a shield with two black and blue stripes running horizontally and a snake with a collar in the club's colors. Only in the early 1990s was the biscione completely abandoned, giving way to the crest as we know it today. Another memorabilia worth remembering is the Inter jersey from the 1980s, specifically the one from the 1988/89 season, when they won a record-breaking Scudetto. Search for the historic Inter jersey. that is missing from your private collection and in addition to the collection of vintage Inter shirts you can also find retro tracksuits, sweatshirts and sports bags.
