The Bologna shirt for the season features a vertical striped design in the club's iconic colors of red and blue, with a stylish stand collar. The Diadora logo and the CARISBO sponsor are present by sublimation.

The Diadora logo is sewn on the left side of the chest and is also present in a larger form as a subplot.

In the 1996-1997 season, Bologna led by Renzo Ulivieri made its return to the top flight of Italian football. The championship ends with a satisfying seventh position, barely touching access to the European cups.
