ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES
On 12 July 1997 at the Franchi the presentation of Fiorentina 97/98 is underway, starting with the new coach Malesani. "The president is not there yet" shouts into the microphone Carlo Conti, presenter of the event "but he will soon arrive with a surprise". At noon, in fact, Vittorio Cecchi Gori arrives in the company of Edmundo, with the purple scarf around his neck. 10,000 fans greet him with a long applause, but a part of the audience intones the chorus "Bati-Bati-Batigol", as an invocation to the return of Gabriel Batistuta, still in disagreement with the club. The first person to hug Edmundo is Maria Grazia Cucinotta, godmother of the presentation.
