ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES

Sampdoria 96/97 made an excellent placing in the league, finishing the championship in 6th place, improving their placement by two places compared to the previous year and thus guaranteeing access to the UEFA Cup. That year the technical guide, for the last year, was in the hands of the great Sven-Göran Eriksson before moving to Lazio. The Swedish technician's battleship boasted names of the caliber of Roberto Mancini, Vincenzo "airplane" Montella, Juan Sebastian Veron nicknamed la Brujita (the little witch), nickname inherited from his father. One remembers Eriksson's years at Sampdoria, the 93/94 Italian Cup victory.
