Description

Argentina national team home jersey from the 1994 season, produced by Adidas. Classic sky-blue and white vertical striped design, embellished with thin black outlines along the stripes, a distinctive and controversial element of the design. White polo collar with button closure and matching trim, short sleeves with a traditional cut. Flocked Adidas logo on the right chest and AFA crest applied to the left chest. Lightweight polyester fabric with a tonal jacquard pattern integrated within the stripes. Internal Adidas label with size XL, 100% polyester, Made in the United Kingdom.

Historical note:
The model adidas proposed to the AFA before USA94 prompted the intervention of Julio Grondona, the federation's president at the time, who halted production. The sky-blue and white pattern was the basis of the kit, as tradition dictates, but the reason for the ban was the color of the stripes' outlines. The federation's rules mandated that only sky blue and white be used on the home shirt, with no other colors added, and black posed an insurmountable obstacle.
