La maglia home è azzurra con maniche lunghe e colletto a polo bianco, aperto su uno scollo a V. Sul petto sono presenti il logo Lotto e lo stemma circolare della S.S. Calcio Napoli, affiancati dallo sponsor Centrale Latte di Napoli in grandi lettere arcuate. Una fascia geometrica azzurra e bianca attraversa il torace, con motivi a rombi che si ripetono sulle maniche. I polsini sono azzurri e il retro mantiene il colore dominante, senza un nome di calciatore.
Il Napoli raggiunse la finale di Coppa Italia 1996/1997 contro il Vicenza. Vinse 1-0 la partita di andata al San Paolo grazie a Fabio Pecchia, ma nella gara di ritorno, il 29 maggio 1997, venne sconfitto per 3-0 dopo i tempi supplementari. La stagione, vissuta tra cambi di allenatore e risultati altalenanti in campionato, resta quindi legata a un trofeo sfiorato. Questa divisa Lotto con lo sponsor Centrale Latte di Napoli appartiene a quell’annata.
