Historical Anecdote

The 1990/1991 season was a transitional year for Napoli following their Serie A triumph in 1989/1990. With Alberto Bigon as head coach and Diego Maradona still leading the team, Napoli aimed to defend their title but finished outside the top spots. This season also marked Maradona’s final full campaign with Napoli before his suspension in March 1991 due to doping allegations.
