After a sensational and exhausting back and forth between Barcelona and Naples, the Ferlaino - Juliano couple succeeded in bringing the talented Argentine born in 1960, Diego Armando Maradona, to the shadow of Vesuvius. The footballer, already in unsuspected times, had sworn love for the blue shirt by being immortalized on the cover of the Guerin Sportivo with the uniform of Napoli for the 1983/1984 season, the title of which was "I want Naples". In the first season of Maradona in Naples, the “Pibe de Oro” scored 14 goals in the 30 matches played in the blue jersey, making him the best scorer of the team.

ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:
This is the season preceding Diego Armando Maradona's arrival in Naples. The season was particularly disappointing, with Napoli committed to not relegating for the duration of the championship. The arrivals of De Rosa, Caffarelli, Masi, Boldini, Frappampina and the Brazilian Dirceu, purchased by the director Juliano under the directions of the coach Santin, were not enough to play a quiet championship. Rino Marchesi, called on the bench to replace Santin 10 days from the gong, succeeded in the complicated mission of saving Napoli from Serie B

he Serie A championship, 1983/84 season, sees Napoli save themselves in the final stages, with a point of advantage on the relegation block. In the first part of the championship, Pietro Santin, fresh from three seasons with Cavese, sat on the blue bench. Santin was relieved of his post after 20 disappointing matches, with Napoli stuck in the middle of the relegation zone. Only the return to the bench of Rino Marchesi, in the last 10 days of the championship, prevented the team of president Ferlaino from falling in the category.

The 1980/81 season was thrilling for Napoli, which ended its journey in the league in third place with 38 points earned in 30 days, less than 6 from the Juventus championship. The opening of the borders for non-Italian players increased the quality of the tournament: all the teams of the highest Italian football competition acquired players from teams from all over the world. The Azzurri team, led by Rino Marchesi on the bench and Corrado Ferlaino as president, counted among their ranks Ruud Krol, a skilled Dutch defender employed in the role of free. Napoli expressed good football also thanks to the experience of the Dutch Krol, he has cultivated ambitions for the championship until the last few days.

DETAILS:

Short-sleeved training shirt version. N embroidered in blue on the left side of the shirt. Production entrusted to Ennerre which in those years supplied the Blue Club.

ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:
Following the encouraging results obtained last season, Corrado Ferlaino, president in charge of Napoli, put his hand to the wallet becoming the protagonist of the transfer market thanks to the purchase of Giuseppe Savoldi, at the time the best forward in circulation, paid to Bologna a good two billion Lire. The overall operation included a check for 1,400,000,000 lire plus the Clerici card and half of the Rampanti card, together valued at 600,000,000 lire. This acquisition went down in history as the most expensive of all time for those years where Naples city, in sharp contrast with the football club, was experiencing a negative period of recession, such as to arouse, even among the most avid fans, a very strong discontent. which resulted in protests and disputes, culminating in the strike of the garbage collectors. Savoldi showed off with 14 goals in the league which saw Napoli finishing fifth at 36 points, 9 less than the Italian champion Turin. The season of the Azzurri, coached first by Luis Vinico and then by the tandem Delfrati - Rivellino, was enlivened by the victory of the Italian Cup, the second in the history of Naples, won at the "Olimpico" stadium in Rome on 29 June 1976 against Verona , beaten 4-0 with a brace from “mister two billion” Beppe Savoldi.

ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:

Napoli except for the broken cap in the 1982/83 season. After 11 races, the Napoli of coach Massimo Giacobini was last with just 7 points. The change on the bench was inevitable: Bruno Pesaola, assisted by coach Gennaro Rambone, succeeded in the complicated business of staying in Serie A thanks to a good second round. Curiosity: at the beginning of the season, Napoli wore midnight blue shorts, replaced for superstitious reasons in the classic white at the beginning of the second round.

ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:

The 1960/61 season was really subdued for the Napoli Azzurri. The departures of Pesaola and Vinicio above all, although replaced with numerous arrivals, did not favor the championship path of the team coached by Amedeo Amadei. Only 7 wins, 11 draws and 16 defeats. Amedei, from the sixteenth day, was joined on the bench by Renato Cesarini, arriving from Juventus and hired as technical director. The arrival of the supporter of the "Cesarini area" caused quite a bit of controversy: Juve in fact claimed that Napoli had made a direct agreement with Cesarini without the approval of the Piedmontese club; all on the eve of Juventus - Napoli on 15 January 1961, which ended 2-2. The waste from the away match in Turin came to the surface when training resumed: the Brazilian striker Del Vecchio, after having become the protagonist two days before the away match against Juventus in an almost dramatic fling, transformed from a football player to a boxer, hitting mister Amedeo Amedei full face. The reason? Amedei, having learned of the attacker's unauthorized exit, decided to warn President Alfonso Cuomo that he punished the South American striker with a large fine. Not even the advent of Attila Sallustro on the bench for the last two league games prevented Napoli from a scorching relegation to Serie B.

CURIOSITIES:

With the presidency of the shipowner and former mayor of Naples Achille Lauro, Napoli has always aimed at the noble areas of the Serie A standings. Not everyone knows that Lauro's strategy aimed at popular consensus, in such a way as to centralize this consensus also in politics, as later demonstrated with the phenomenon of "Laurism" and as evidenced by the historiographers who tell of the curious electoral campaign of "o 'Commander" based on the "give and take" mode thanks to the gift of food and the famous mismatched shoes, to receive one before the vote and another after voting. The so-called "Berlusconi of Naples" spared no expense for the purchase of the Swedish striker Hans Jeppson: in the annals there remains the expression of a fan who at the Necklace stadium, after a ruinous fall of the blond center forward, exclaimed "Banco has fallen of Naples!". A historic joke that underlined, in the manner of the Neapolitans, how exorbitant the purchase of the Swedish footballer had been who, at the technical guide of Eraldo Monzeglio, in that championship scored as many as 20 goals, 3 less than his compatriot Nordahl, top scorer of the tournament. During this season, an unfortunate event that earned all the front pages of the time should be noted. On 10 January 1954, during a Napoli - Genoa match that ended 3-2 on the field in favor of the hosts, the match director, Mr. Righi from the Milan section, gave Genoa an apparent goal on the momentary 2-1. offside. To the protest of the Azzurri players on the field was added that of the fans present at the Vomerese stadium "Necklace" who even broke the containment fences invading the pitch. This cost dearly to the Neapolitan team because the 3-2 victory on the field turned into a defeat at the table with the score of 0-2.
