ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:
Not exactly a prosperous year. Embittered by the negative results of the team in the 1983/84 season, the Napoli fans slowly left the stands of the “San Paolo”. The coach Antonio Juliano was harshly criticized by the supporters because of a poor signing campaign, which he considered instead superior to that of the previous season. But it was not like that, in fact like the previous season so the blue club found itself fighting for survival in Serie A.

PLAYERS: Luciano Castellini, Giuseppe Bruscolotti, Moreno Ferrario, Ruud Krol, Costanzo Celestini, Claudio Pellegrini, Gaetano Musella, Giuseppe "Oscar" Damiani, Mario Guidetti

ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES

It was a Napoli that of the great Gigi Simoni who took her home by hook or by crook, an airtight defense to protect the goal, when the joker did not reach the ninetieth. So that Napoli beat Buffon's Parma at Fuorigrotta, Signori's Lazio, eliminated Lazio itself in the Italian Cup, an event in which they reached the final to the detriment of Inter. He drew in Turin with Zidane's Juve thanks to a goal by the awkward Aglietti. At Christmas that Naples worker greeted the struffoli of the highest positions in the ranking. Then, in part the disagreements with Ferlaino over an agreement by Simoni with Moratti, in part the technical limitations, however evident of the team, led to a bad second round and the President took the opportunity not to have the Italian Cup final played at mister, replaced by Vincenzo Montefusco. The troubles of Napoli perhaps arose that night, Vicenza found themselves in front of a very different team from the cazzimmosa of the Emilian coach and brought the Cup to Veneto.

Driven by the talent and skills of the "blue tulip" Ruud Krol, Napoli in the 1980/1981 season obtained a good third place, cradling championship dreams up to the internal challenge against an already relegated Perugia, lost 1-0 with an own goal by Ferrario, at penultimate day. Campania, however, will be traumatized in the late afternoon of November 23, 1980: on the day dedicated to San Clemente, a violent earthquake shocked thousands of lives. The effects of the earthquake also extended well beyond the Campania borders.

The Juventus team, after 8 victories in 8 league matches, stopped at the “San Paolo” stadium on the ninth day. Diego Armando Maradona interrupted the sequence of victories of the very quick "old lady" thanks to a wonderful free kick, scored against the laws of physics, on November 3, 1985.

On 11 June 1989 the third to last day of the Serie A championship is played. Napoli is on stage at "Cino e Lillo Del Duca" in Ascoli. This match will go down in history due to the attacking debut of Raffaele Di Fusco, a professional goalkeeper.
