After a sensational and exhausting back and forth between Barcelona and Naples, the Ferlaino - Juliano couple succeeded in bringing the talented Argentine born in 1960, Diego Armando Maradona, to the shadow of Vesuvius. The footballer, already in unsuspected times, had sworn love for the blue shirt by being immortalized on the cover of the Guerin Sportivo with the uniform of Napoli for the 1983/1984 season, the title of which was "I want Naples". In the first season of Maradona in Naples, the “Pibe de Oro” scored 14 goals in the 30 matches played in the blue jersey, making him the best scorer of the team.

This is the season preceding Diego Armando Maradona's arrival in Naples. The season was particularly disappointing, with Napoli committed to not relegating for the duration of the championship. The arrivals of De Rosa, Caffarelli, Masi, Boldini, Frappampina and the Brazilian Dirceu, purchased by the director Juliano under the directions of the coach Santin, were not enough to play a quiet championship. Rino Marchesi, called on the bench to replace Santin 10 days from the gong, succeeded in the complicated mission of saving Napoli from Serie B

Driven by the talent and skills of the "blue tulip" Ruud Krol, Napoli in the 1980/1981 season obtained a good third place, cradling championship dreams up to the internal challenge against an already relegated Perugia, lost 1-0 with an own goal by Ferrario, at penultimate day. Campania, however, will be traumatized in the late afternoon of November 23, 1980: on the day dedicated to San Clemente, a violent earthquake shocked thousands of lives. The effects of the earthquake also extended well beyond the Campania borders.

ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:
In the 1986/87 season, two points were awarded for each victory. Napoli led an exciting championship, punctuated by successes and high-sounding performances at home and away. The Azzurri team led by Ottavio Bianchi on the bench and Corrado Ferlaino as president, remained uninterruptedly leaders in Serie A for the entire duration of the second round, or 15 days.

On 1 November 1987, to coincide with the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the company, Juventus took the field against Avellino (result of 3 to 0 for the bianconeri) wearing a new pink suit, in memory of the jersey of the beginnings. For that one match, the Robe di Kappa provides Juventus with an extraordinary shirt, with a large white collar, Ariston sponsors in black, long sleeves with white cuffs and a decidedly thicker fabric compared to the usual shirts made available by the Turin brand. The number on the back is black like the sponsor and in a particular three-dimensional font, never used before and taken up only a few years later on sporadic occasions.
