ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES

On 9 July 1997, Fiorentina reached an agreement with Vasco da Gama and concluded the purchase of the footballer Edmundo for a figure close to 13 billion lire. The contract is for three years: two and a half billion lire per season. Edmundo declares himself happy for the transfer to Italy which can only take place at the conclusion of the Brazilian championship. "It's a dream come true" he says in a television interview, during which he also challenges his friend Ronaldo: "I'll score more than you".
